Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to the following procedures in SEAT SYSTEM :
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 1 (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 1 (BUCKET)
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 2
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 2 - 50-50
  2. Remove the rear door sill trim plates. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - REAR  .
  3. Remove the endgate or the liftgate door sill trim plate. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE  .
  4. Remove the trim panels for the rear quarter. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - RIGHT (UTILITY)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - RIGHT (SUBURBAN)  and to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - LEFT (UTILITY)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - LEFT (SUBURBAN)  .
  5. Remove the bolts that retain the cargo tie down hooks to the floor.
  6. Remove the cargo tie down hooks.

  7. Remove the rear carpet from the vehicle.
