Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
  1. Install the rear carpet to the vehicle.
  2. Install the cargo tie down hooks.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the bolts that retain the cargo tie down hooks to the floor.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  4. Install the endgate or the liftgate door sill trim plate. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE  .
  5. Install the trim panels for the rear quarter. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - RIGHT (UTILITY)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - RIGHT (SUBURBAN)  and to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - LEFT (UTILITY)  or TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER - LEFT (SUBURBAN)  .

  6. Install the door sill trim plates. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - REAR  .
  7. Install the rear seat. Refer to the following procedures in SEAT SYSTEM :
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 1 (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 1 (BUCKET)
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 2
    • SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR NO. 2 - 50-50
