Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
  2. Lift up the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece in order to release the clips to the left outboard cowl vent grille trim piece.
  3. Remove the hood. Refer to HOOD REPLACEMENT  .
  4. Remove the left hood spring assembly. Refer to HOOD LINK REPLACEMENT  .

  5. Remove the left fender to cowl support brace.

  6. Remove the wheelhouse panel bracket.
  7. Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.

  8. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the clips.

  9. Disconnect the windshield washer hose from the clips on the fender.
  10. Remove the underhood electrical center. Refer to UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT in Wiring Systems.

  11. Remove the push-in retainers (2) in order to detach the wheelhouse panel (1) from the fender (3).

  12. Remove the fender to upper cowl bracket bolt.
  13. Open the door.

  14. Remove the fender to door hinge bolts.

  15. Release the left front grille clip from the fender.

  16. Remove the fender to radiator support bolts and retainer.

  17. Remove the rear lower fender bolt.
  18. Remove the left fender from the vehicle.
