Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) cluster trim bezel. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER  .
  2. Remove the center console, if equipped. Refer to CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (WITH CONSOLE MOUNTING BRACKET)  or CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (W/O CONSOLE MOUNTING BRACKET)  .
  3. Open the I/P compartment door.
  4. Remove the bolts retaining the lower trim panel to the I/P assembly.

  5. Disconnect all of the electrical connectors (1, 2, 3).
  6. Remove the lower trim panel from the I/P assembly.
