Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove both front seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUCKET in Seats.
  2. Remove the upper console bezel. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (NON-LUXURY UPPER)  or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (LUXURY UPPER)  or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (NON-LUX LOWER)  .
  3. Remove the cupholder. Refer to CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY)  or CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY)  or CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (REAR)  .
  4. Remove the screws (1) retaining the console to the I/P.
  5. Move the console assembly rearwards in order to disconnect the wire connectors.
  6. Remove the console assembly from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the console bin. Refer to CONSOLE STORAGE BIN REPLACEMENT (EXPECT PRO)  .
  8. Remove the amplifier and bracket from the console bracket.
  9. Remove the vehicle sensor from the bracket. Refer to YAW RATE SENSOR/LATERAL ACCELEROMETER REPLACEMENT in ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WITH TCVS & VSES
  10. Remove the fasteners retaining the console to the bracket.
