Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the I/P cluster trim bezel. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Insert a flat bladed tool at the top and bottom of the switch assembly as shown in the graphic in order to pry it out.
  3. Pull out the switch assembly in order to gain access to the connector.
  4. Disconnect the wire connector.
  5. Remove the switch from the I/P.

    The rear wiper switch (1) is replaced as an assembly if the vehicle is equipped with front fog lamps.
