Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe, if necessary. Refer to EXHAUST MANIFOLD PIPE REPLACEMENT (6.0L AND 8.1L ENGINES)  .
  2. Remove the catalytic converter, if necessary. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT (4.8L AND 5.3L ENGINES)  or CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT (6.0L AND 8.1L ENGINES)  .
  3. Remove the exhaust front heat shield nuts.

  5. Remove the exhaust front heat shield from the studs.
  6. Remove the exhaust heat shield nuts.
  7. Remove the exhaust heat shield from the studs.
