Assembly Procedure

  1. Grease the stub shaft seal with the special grease supplied with the new stub shaft housing.
  2. Install the new stub shaft housing O-rings (1) (2).
  3. Install the stub shaft housing (3) onto the steering gear.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the stub shaft housing bolts (4) into the stub shaft housing (34).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 55.0-70.0 N.m (40.5-51.6 lb ft).
