Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the hoist to the crossmember.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

  3. Install the spare wheel hoist shaft guide from the spare wheel hoist.

  4. Install the spare wheel hoist shaft guide (2) to the bumper.

  5. Install the spare wheel hoist shaft guide retaining clips to the bumper (1).

  6. Install the spare tire to the hoist.

  7. Remove the safety stands.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the spare wheel stowage lock cylinder.
