Disabling System (Eldorado)

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Remove key from ignition switch.
  2. Remove SIR fuse from rear fuse block. Rear fuse block is located in trunk, behind rear seat. Wait 10 minutes. Remove driver-side sound insulator. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR connector at base of steering column. See Figure.
  3. Remove glove box. Remove CPA clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR connector. Connector is attached to sheet metal to the right of the glove box. See Figure.
