Disabling System (Corvette)

  1. Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Turn front wheels to straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove key.
  2. Remove SDM fuse (No. 16) from interior fuse block under front floor kick-up panel at passenger side. Wait 10 minutes. Remove lower steering column cover. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip. Disconnect driver air bag 2-pin Yellow SIR connector at base of steering column. See Figure.
  3. For passenger air bag, remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip. Disconnect 2-pin Yellow connector located at base of steering column. See Figure.
