Disabling System (Windstar)

- Record radio preset frequencies for reprogramming, if equipped. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
- Remove access panel on rear of steering wheel. See Fig 1. Disconnect air bag module connector. Connect appropriate air bag simulator to clockspring connector at top of steering column, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATOR .
- Open glove box. Press in on sides to release stops and lower glove box. Disconnect passenger air bag module electrical connector. Connect appropriate air bag simulator to passenger air bag vehicle harness connector, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATOR .
- Disconnect side air bag module connector under driver seat. Connect appropriate air bag simulator to vehicle harness connector, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATOR . Repeat procedure for passenger side. Connect negative battery cable.
