Disabling System (Villager)

WARNING: On Villager, backup power supply holds a deployment charge for approximately 3 minutes after battery cable is disconnected. Servicing SRS before 3-minute period may cause accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 3 minutes to deplete charge in backup power supply. Remove cover panel on lower portion of steering wheel to access air bag module connector. Disconnect air bag connector and install air bag simulator to vehicle harness connector, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATOR .
  2. Remove glove box. Disconnect passenger's side air bag module connector located behind glove box. Connect air bag simulator to vehicle connector, in place of air bag. See AIR BAG SIMULATOR . To perform necessary tests, reconnect negative battery cable.
