Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the rear bumper fascia supports to the rear fascia. Refer to Fascia Support Replacement - Rear Bumper Outer .
  2. Position the rear bumper fascia to the vehicle.
  3. Install the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
  4. Install the license plate lamp screws to the lamp.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the license plate lamp socket (1) to the lamp by rotating clockwise.

  6. Install the rear bumper fascia to quarter panel bolts (1) in the rear wheel housing.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  7. Install the push-in retainers (2) to the lower edge of the rear bumper fascia (3).
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the rear bumper fascia nuts (1) from the inside rear compartment.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the push-in retainers (2) to the upper edge of the rear bumper fascia (3).

  12. Install the tail lamps. Refer to TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY AND/OR BACKUP, SIDEMARKER, STOP, TURN SIGNAL BULB REPLACEMENT .
