Installation Procedure

  1. Position the J 36502-2A  over the output shaft.

  2. Using J 36502  , install the NEW output shaft seal.

  3. Remove the J 36502-2A  from the output shaft.
  4. Fill the space between the seal lips with grease GM P/N 1052497 or equivalent.

  6. Install transfer case. Refer to TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT NVG 236/246-NP8 (TWO SPEED AUTOMATIC) or TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT NVG 261-NP2 (TWO SPEED MANUAL) .
  7. Check the transmission fluid level. Add as necessary.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
