Removal Procedure

WARNING: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.
  1. Open and support the hood.
  2. Remove the hood hold-open rod from the retainer clip (1).
  3. Use a small, flat-bladed tool to remove the retainer clip (1) from the radiator support.
  4. Remove the hood hold-open rod (2) from the radiator support.
  5. Remove the hood hold-open rod bushing from the radiator support by pulling outward.
