Hood Adjustment

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Loosen the bolts for the hood latch.

  3. Adjust the front hood bumpers (4) on the radiator support until the hood aligns with the front of the fenders.
  4. Measure the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
  5. Obtain a shim that is the same thickness as the difference between the hood and the rear of the fender.
  6. Loosen the hood hinge to hood bolts.
  7. Install the shim between the hood hinge (1) and the hood.
  8. Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts until snug.
  9. Position the hood latch upward.
  10. Tighten the hood latch bolts until they are snug.

  11. Carefully close the hood in order to engage the hood latch.
  12. Adjust the clearance between the hood and fender.
  13. Carefully open the hood.
    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  14. Tighten the hood latch bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hood latch bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb in).

  15. Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the hood hinge to hood bolts to 25 N.m (21 lb ft).

  16. Close the hood.
