Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator. Refer to GENERATOR in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the generator bracket.
  3. Remove the ignition coil bracket with the coils. Refer to IGNITION COILS and IGNITION CONTROL MODULE in Engine Controls - 3.1 L.

  5. Remove the vacuum hose from the grommet in the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover.
  6. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement  .
  7. Remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover bolts and cover.
  8. Remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover gasket.
  9. Clean the valve rocker arm cover and gasket sealing surfaces.
