Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  If you are removing the rear door only. Perform steps 9-13.

  1. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  2. Remove the rear door wiring harness. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement-Rear Door .
  3. Remove the rear door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Rear Door .
  4. Remove the rear door window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement-Rear Door .
  5. Remove the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Rear Outside .
  6. Remove the rear door hinges. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Rear Door .
  7. Remove the rear door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Rear .
  8. Remove the rear door stationary window. Refer to Window Replacement-Rear Door Stationary .
  9. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the rear door wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the rear door pillar.
  10. Disconnect the rear door wiring harness electrical connector (1).

  11. Remove the rear door check link bolt.

  12. Remove the rear door hinge intermediate bolts.

  14. Remove the rear door with an assistant.
