Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  If you are removing the front door only. Perform steps  1015.

  1. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  2. Remove the front door locking system module. Refer to Locking System Module Replacement - Front Door .
  3. Remove the mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement .
  4. Remove the front door outside handle. Refer to Outside Handle and Lock Cylinder Replacement .
  5. Remove the front door hinges. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Front Door .
  6. Remove the front door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front .
  7. Remove the front door window run channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement .
  8. Remove the front door auxiliary sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement-Front Door Auxiliary .
  9. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to CARPET RETAINER REPLACEMENT .
  10. Remove the rubber conduit from the front door body pillar.
  11. Disconnect the front door wiring harness (1) from the main body wiring harness at the front door pillar.

  13. Pull the front door wiring harness (1) out through the opening in the front door body pillar.

  15. Remove the front door check link bolt.
  16. Remove the front door hinge intermediate hinge bolts.
  17. Remove the front door with an assistant.
