Installation Procedure

- Install the auxiliary battery tray to the vehicle.CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the auxiliary battery tray bolts to the battery tray.
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary battery tray bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the auxiliary battery to the auxiliary battery tray.CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. - Install the auxiliary battery hold-down retainer bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the auxiliary battery positive and negative cables. Refer to Battery Positive Cable Replacement - Auxiliary and Battery Negative Cable Replacement - Auxiliary .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the front battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
