Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Suburban/Yukon XL/Avalanche/Escld EXT) .
  2. Remove the window. Refer to Module Replacement - Rear Power Window (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade)  or Module Replacement - Rear Power Window (Suburban/Yukon XL/Avalanche/Escld Ext) .
  3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside .
  4. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Outside .
  5. Remove the door lock actuator. Refer to Lock Actuator Replacement - Rear Door .
  6. Remove the weatherstrip from the door. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door .

  8. Disconnect the door wire harness. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Door .

  10. Remove the door check link bolt from the pillar side.
  11. With an assistant, remove the bolts from the upper and the lower door hinges.
  12. With an assistant, lift the door up from the hinge pins and remove the door from the vehicle.
