WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Sierra, 2002 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2002 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The IPC displays the transmission temperature as determined by the PCM. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the transmission temperature. The transmission temperature gage will default to 38°C (100°F) or below if:
- The PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission temperature sensor circuit.
- The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.
The normal operating range of the transmission temperature gage is from 38°C (100°F) to about 130°C (265°F).
