Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the seat belt guide (1) to the latch assembly, if removed.
  2. Install the spacer (2) to the latch assembly, if removed.

  4. Install the seat back latch assembly to the seat frame.
  5. Attach the recliner cables to the folding mechanism.
  6. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  7. Install the bolts (1,2) that retain the latch assembly to the seat frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  8. Install the screw (3) that retains the latch assembly to the seat frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear (60/40 - 50/50 Split)  or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear (Bench) .
  10. Install the armrest, if equipped. Refer to Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (60/40 - 50/50 Split)  or Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (Bucket) .
  11. Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear (60/40 Split)  or Seat Replacement - Rear (50/50 Split 2nd Rear) .
