Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the head restraint assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Install the cable to the folding head restraint assembly.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the bolts that retain the folding head restraint assembly to the back of the seat frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

  6. Install the bolts that retain the folding head restraint assembly to the front of the seat frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

  7. Install the seat back recliner handle.
  8. Install the seat-back recliner handle screw to the mounting bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the seat back cover and pad to the seat. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear (60/40 - 50/50 Split)  or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Rear (Bench) .

  11. Install the head restraint (1) to the seat by pushing down in order to engage the retaining clips.

  13. Install the folding seatback cover by pushing down in order to engage the retaining clips.
