Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. IMPORTANT: Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil hang freely after removal.
  3. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  4. Remove the bearing retainer using J 23653-SIR and J 42137  .
  5. Remove J 23653-SIR and J 42137  .
  6. Discard the bearing retainer.

  8. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly:
    1. The cam orientation plate (4)
    2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (3)
    3. The upper bearing spring (2)
    4. The thrust washer (1)
