Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
  2. Remove the second rear seat, if equipped. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
  3. Remove the rear door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear  .
  4. Remove the endgate or the liftgate door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Liftgate  .
  5. Remove the trim panels for the rear quarter. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Utility)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Suburban)  or to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (Utility)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (Suburban)  .
  6. Fig 1: Removing Cargo Tie Down Hooks

  7. Remove the bolts that retain the cargo tie down hooks to the floor.
  8. Remove the cargo tie down hooks.

  10. Remove the rear carpet from the vehicle.
