Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    CAUTION: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

  1. Install the rear carpet to the vehicle.

  3. Install the cargo tie down hooks.
  4. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the bolts that retain the cargo tie down hooks to the floor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  6. Install the endgate or the liftgate door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Liftgate  .
  7. Install the trim panels for the rear quarter. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Utility)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Right (Suburban)  or to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (Utility)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter - Left (Suburban)  .
  8. Install the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear  .
  9. Install the second rear seat if equipped. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
  10. Install the rear seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
