Oil Cooler Pipes & Seals: Installation

CAUTION:
The correct thread engagement is critical. Crossthreaded fittings can achieve proper tightness value and still leak.
- Install the (J-41239-1) on the transaxle case using cooler pipe bracket stud hole. See Fig 4. Press the new seals in. Tighten the (J-41239-1) until the seal bottoms out in the case bore.
- Install the cooler pipe bracket stud. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipes. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipe clip bolt. Tighten the transaxle oil cooler pipe clip bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the transaxle oil cooler pipe fittings at the radiator. Tighten the transaxle oil cooler pipe fittings to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the transaxle oil cooler hoses to the pipes.
- Lower the vehicle. Inspect the transaxle fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS . Operate the engine for 2 or 3 minutes. Re-inspect the transaxle fluid level. Inspect for fluid leaks.
