Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the auxiliary negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
- Remove the auxiliary battery cable clips from the studs at the front of dash.
- Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (4.8L, 5.3L, or ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (6.0L (LQ9)) .
- If equipped with a 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L engine, remove the engine wiring harness/auxiliary negative battery cable bolt.
- Remove the auxiliary negative battery cable.
- If equipped with a 8.1L engine, remove the engine wiring harness/auxiliary negative battery cable bolt.
- Remove the auxiliary negative battery cable.
