Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the liftgate lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Liftgate .
  2. Install the actuator to the liftgate.
  3. Loose assemble the bolts to the latch actuator.
  4. Close the liftgate glass in order to adjust the actuator.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the cables to actuator assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connectors.
  7. Install the upper and lower trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate .
