Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the buckle and the latch to the seat frame.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the buckle bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

  4. Connect the seat cushion cover by joining the cushion trim J-strips.

  6. Install the handle mounting screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 7 N.m (61 lb in).

  7. Install the seat back frame. Refer to SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 - 50/50 SPLIT) or SEAT BACK FRAME REPLACEMENT - REAR (BENCH) .

  9. Install the retractor mounting bolt (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 55 N.m (410 lb ft).

  10. Install the seat belt retractor bolt cover (1).
  11. Install the seat back cover and pad. Refer to SEAT BACK COVER AND PAD REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 - 50/50 SPLIT) or SEAT BACK COVER AND PAD REPLACEMENT - REAR (BENCH) .
  12. Install the headrests. Refer to HEAD RESTRAINT REPLACEMENT (NON-CADILLAC) or HEAD RESTRAINT REPLACEMENT (CADILLAC) or HEAD RESTRAINT REPLACEMENT (FOLDING) .

  14. Install the seat belt anchor screw (1) to the cushion frame.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 55 N.m (41 lb ft)

  16. Install the latch cover (1) to the seat.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  17. In order to secure the seat back, manually rotate the center latch. Rotate the latch until the seat back clicks into position.
  18. Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (60/40 SPLIT) or SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR (50/50 SPLIT 2ND REAR) .
