Installation Procedure

Important:

Before installing the new transfer case control rod, loosen the adjuster nut on the transfer case control rod so it slides with slight resistance.
When installing the control rod on the control levers, a snap sound should heard or felt upon installation.

Install the transfer case control rod on the transfer case control lever first.
Slide the transfer case control rod forward.
Install the transfer case control rod on the transfer case shift control lever.
Tighten the transfer case control rod adjusting nut. Tighten the transfer case control rod adjusting nut to 15 N.m (11 ft lbs).
Install the front propeller shaft. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT - FRONT .
Install the transfer case shield. Refer to Transfer Case Shield Replacement .
Lower the vehicle.
