Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR HANDLING CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. Position the seat cushion out of the way. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front  .
  3. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat  .
  4. Open the seat back cover J and arrow fasteners (1, 4).
  5. Disconnect the double J channel fasteners (5).
  6. Disconnect the J channel fasteners (2,3).

  7. Disconnect the J channel fastener (1).

  8. Remove the inflatable restraint. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (SIDE IMPACT) in SIR.
  9. Remove the head restraint retainers. Refer to Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Front Seat  .
  10. Remove the shoulder belt retractor. Refer to SEAT BELT REPLACEMENT -- FRONT in Seat Belts.
  11. Remove the seat back cover (2) from the seat back pad (1) and the seat back frame.

  12. Remove the seat back pad (2) from the seat back frame (1).
