Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR HANDLING CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM in SIR.
  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket  .
  3. Remove the inner seat adjuster track cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front  .
  4. Remove the inner recliner trim cover. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front  .
  5. Partially remove the seat back cover and pad in order to gain access to the power recliner motor. Refer to Seat Back Cover And Pad Replacement - Front  .

    CAUTION: Refer to ELECTRICAL WIRING ROUTING NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power recliner motor and recliner position sensor if equipped.
  7. Remove the push-on nut (2) on the end of the recliner rod.
  8. Remove the fastener (1) securing the power recliner motor to the seat back frame.
  9. Slide the recliner rod (2) out of the seat back recliner and the power recliner motor (4).
  10. Remove the power recliner motor from the seat.
  11. Remove the recliner position sensor (5) from the recliner motor, if equipped.
