Fuel Used

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora and 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The fuel used is the amount of fuel used since the fuel used parameter was last reset. The PCM monitors the fuel level sensor signal circuit to determine the amount of fuel used. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the fuel used. The fuel used parameter is displayed in the DIC in one of the following formats:

The ###.# represent the fuel used value. The units of the display correspond to the current IPC setting (English/metric). The DIC displays - instead of a fuel used value if the DIC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the IPC. The fuel used is reset by pressing the RESET button for greater than 3 seconds while the fuel used message is displayed.
