Water Pump: Installation

  1. Lubricate water pump O-ring with engine oil. Install water pump. Install water pump bolts. Ensure correct length bolt is used in proper location.
  2. Install water pump- to-water pump outlet pipe gasket. Install engine wiring harness retainer on water pump outlet pipe inner stud. Install water pump-to-water pump outlet pipe nuts.
  3. Install thermostat housing crossover. See THERMOSTAT HOUSING COVER . Install crankshaft balancer. See CRANKSHAFT BALANCER . Install fan clutch. See FAN BLADE ASSEMBLY . Fill engine with coolant. See DRAINING & REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM . Install left front fender wheelhouse inner panel.
