Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Use the J 36346  in order to remove the push pin retainers that retain the rear bumper fascia to the rear wheelhouse extensions.

  3. Remove the bolt retaining the rear bumper fascia (3) at the wheelhouse opening.
  4. Disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.
  5. Remove the rear fog lamp bulb socket from the rear fog lamp, if equipped.
  6. Open the rear compartment.
  7. Remove the rear compartment sill trim. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT--REAR .
  8. Fold back the rear compartment side trim panels.

  9. Remove the nuts retaining the rear bumper fascia studs (1) to the quarter panels.
  10. Remove the nuts retaining the fascia to the rear quarter panel.
  11. Remove the rear bumper fascia (3) and the energy absorber (2) from the vehicle.

  13. Remove the rear fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT -- REAR .
  14. Remove the energy absorber from the fascia. Refer to ENERGY ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - Rear .
