Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the rear fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT -- REAR .
  2. Install the energy absorber to the fascia. Refer to ENERGY ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - Rear .
  3. Align the bolts (1) in the rear bumper fascia to the body.
  4. Connect the license lamp electrical connector (2).

    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  5. Install the nuts to secure the rear bumper fascia to the rear end panel.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 6 N.m (53 in lbs).

  6. Install the nuts to secure the rear bumper fascia (3) to the quarter panels.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fasteners to 6 N.m (53 in lbs).

  7. Reinstall the rear compartment side trim panels.
  8. Install the rear compartment sill trim. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT--REAR .
  9. Close the rear compartment.

  10. Install the push pin retainers to secure the rear bumper fascia to the rear wheelhouse extensions.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
