Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  With the leather seat option, the left, front seat is equipped with a side impact air bag. This must be disabled before any work is done on this seat.

  1. If the seat is equipped with and air bag, refer to AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

    Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .

  2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat .
  3. Remove the front seat adjuster track covers. Refer to Seat Adjuster Track Cover Replacement - Front .
  4. Position the front seat forward to between the mid-position and full forward and also the full-up position.
  5. Remove the front seat adjuster to floor pan bolts.

  7. Remove the seat belt anchor plate nut.

  9. Disconnect the front seat electrical connectors.
  10. Tip the seat forward to remove it from the front hook attachments.
  11. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.
