Removal Procedure

Open and support the rear compartment lid.
NOTE: Refer to LIFTGATE ASSIST ROD NOTICE .
Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to lift up the locking clip on the strut upper ball stud.

Press out the upper ball stud.
Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to lift up the locking clip on the strut lower ball stud.
Press out the lower ball stud.
Remove the rear compartment lid strut from the hinge.
