Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Buick Regal and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Align the hinge to the alignment marks that was made on the quarter panel.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the bolts that attach the hinge to the rear quarter. Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear compartment struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
  4. Install the rear compartment lid nuts. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear .
  5. Adjust the rear compartment lid height:
    • Use an Allen wrench to turn the rear compartment hinge height adjustment bumper.
    • Turn the rear compartment lid bumper by hand.
  6. Close the rear compartment.
