Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. in order to gain access to the thermostat housing.
  3. Position the J 38185  to the clamp in order to remove the outlet radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  4. Remove the thermostat housing bolts.

  5. Remove the thermostat and the thermostat housing gasket from the water pump housing.
  6. Remove the thermostat housing from the water pump housing.
