Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new thermostat and gasket into the water pump housing.
  2. Position the thermostat housing to the water pump housing.

    CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the thermostat housing bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 10 N.m (89 in lbs).

  4. Position the J 38185  to the clamp in order to connect the outlet radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
  5. Install the air cleaner assembly. .
  6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
