Draining Procedure

  1. Remove the surge tank pressure cap.
    1. 1.1. Clean the cap.
    2. 1.2. Pressure test the cap.
    3. 1.3. If necessary, replace the cap.
    4. 1.4. Clean the surge tank filler neck. Inspect the filler neck.
  2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to AIR DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT -- FRONT .
  3. Open the radiator drain at the bottom of the radiator.

  5. Completely drain the cooling system.
  6. If the coolant is dirty, or if there are deposits in the radiator, flush the cooling system before refilling. Refer to Flushing .
  7. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Surge Tank Replacement .
    1. 6.1. Clean the outside of the surge tank.
    2. 6.2. Pour out any fluid.
    3. 6.3. Thoroughly clean the inside of the surge tank using soap and water.
    4. 6.4. Thoroughly flush the surge tank with clean water and drain.
  8. Install the surge tank. Refer to Surge Tank Replacement .
  9. Close the radiator drain.
  10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to AIR DEFLECTOR REPLACEMENT -- FRONT .
