- J 38825 Power Steering and Water Pump Pulley Remover
- J 39946 Crankshaft Socket - 4.0 L and 4.6 L
- J 44212 Camshaft Holding Tool
- Align the crankshaft to TDC using the J 39946.
- Remove the end cap from the intake camshaft.
- Remove the water pump drive pulley from the intake camshaft using the J 38825.
- Remove the camshaft seal screws.
Important: DO NOT reuse the camshaft seal.
- Slide the seal off the end of the camshaft.
- Loosen the camshaft cover bolts.
- Lift up the front of the cover approximately 250 mm (10 in).
- Swing the front of the cover over the intake manifold while sliding the entire cover over the end of the camshaft.
- The camshaft cover seals, perimeter and spark plug, should be reused unless they are damaged or if the perimeter seal is pulled from its groove during removal.
- Install the J 44212 to the left cylinder head camshafts.
