Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel.
- Remove the rack and pinion boot from the steering gear. Refer to Rack & Pinion Boot Replacement .
Important: The inner tie rod support clamp has right h and threads. The inner tie rod support nut has left h and threads. To remove the support clamp turn the clamp counterclockwise.
- Using the J 44665-1 (1) and J 44665-2 (2) remove the inner tie rod support clamp.
- Remove the inner tie rod (1) from the steering gear using the J 44665-2 (2).
