Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)

NOTE: Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.
  1. Put the shift lever clevis into the neutral position. This will be 2 positions from the park position.

    Important:  The abrasion sleeve must be installed back onto the steering column wire harness assembly. The electronic lock module assembly wires and connector must be hanging out of the middle of the abrasion sleeve.

  2. Firmly install the automatic transmission shift lock control onto the steering column jacket assembly and the cable shift cam assembly.

  4. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
