Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pump to the vehicle. Tighten the power steering retaining bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
  2. Install the nuts to the rear of the pump. Tighten the nuts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
  3. Install the power steering pressure hoses to the pump. Tighten the nut to 28 N.m (20 ft lbs).
  4. Install the power steering return hoses and retaining clamp.
  5. Reposition the accessory mounting bracket and install the bolts and nut.
    • Tighten the accessory mounting bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 ft lbs).
    • Tighten the accessory mounting bracket nut to 41 N.m (30 ft lbs).
  6. Fig 1: Accessory Mounting Bracket

  7. Install the power steering pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement .
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System .
