Instrument Panel Cluster Bezel Trim Plate: Removal

  1. Set the parking brake. Block the wheels. Remove the instrument panel cluster lower trim panel from the instrument panel cluster trim plate. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER LOWER FILLER PANEL  .
  2. Pull on the instrument panel cluster trim plate in order to disengage the retainers. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate from the instrument panel.
  3. Pull in the following sequence to disengage the retainers. Pull at the left corner. Pull at the right corner. Pull at the top.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switches in the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Move the shift lever to the first gear position.
  5. Rotate the instrument panel cluster trim plate counterclockwise. Lift the trim plate over the steering column. Disconnect the headlight switch and the rear heater control switch (if equipped) from the instrument panel cluster trim plate by releasing the outboard tabs.
  6. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate from the vehicle. See Figure . Inspect the instrument panel cluster trim plate for broken or missing retainers. Replace the retainers as necessary.
